How to use the walking guides

A long walk that takes in a bit of everything, forest, waterfalls, lakes and high mountain paths.

Description:

From the parking walk in to Nevache and head south to cross the bridge (signed GR57) follow the GR57 past the stunning Debaret waterfall.  Where the GR57 turns SW to the refuge Buffere continue NW following the Claree river past the Fontcouverte waterfall to where the path joins the road at a bridgeand further parking.  Cross the bridge and climb a steep path to the refuge de Ricou.  From the refuge a path zigzags east to the Lac Laramon and then climbs again to Lac du Sepent.

From the top lake return past the lower lake and join the Chemin de ronde path, this heads back towards Nevache.  Near Nevache the path descends steeply to the Chappelle Ste Barbe, from here you have a choice. Either follow the road back to Nevache using the cut throughs or if you want to avoid the road head south to the pont du Rately and then follow your starting path back past the Debaret waterfall and back to the parking.
