Meet our Expert

Rob Benton

Rob has been climbing since 1995 and has climbed throughout the UK, Europe and South America. He is in to trad, sports and big wall climbing, loving to push himself on the rock.  Rob moved to the French Alps to be closer to the mountains so he could pursue his climbing and other adventure sports. When not working he is out climbing, walking, mountaineering or running white water in his kayak. In winter he’s out ski touring or ice and mixed climbing.

Rob Holds a UK Mountaineering Instructors Award (MIA), International Mountain Leaders (IML) and is a kayak coach and guide and a qualified teacher. Rob takes huge satisfaction and joy from helping others reach their goal in adventure, be that beginners or higher level coaching. Rob has also gained recognition to work in France and is a member of Syndicat Interprofessionnel de la Montagne (SIM)

 

AMI

The Association of Mountaineering Instructors is the representative body for professionally qualified Climbing and Mountaineering Instructors in the UK and Ireland.
AMI members are highly experienced climbers and mountaineers who have undergone rigorous training and assessment to qualify under the Mountain Training UK (MTUK) Mountaineering Instructor scheme. AMI is committed to promoting good practice in all mountaineering instruction. By employing an AMI member, you will be in the very best of hands. Look for the AMI logo as assurance of high quality instruction.

 

UIMLA

UIMLA is an international governing body based in France which is representing International Mountain Leaders across the world. One of the most important targets for UIMLA is to represent the profession at the international level as well as setting equal standards of qualifications for all International Mountain Leaders (IMLs). UIMLA promotes the profession and supports the cooperation between IMLs from different countries.

 

SIM

The SIM defends the general interest of all mountain professionals and outdoor adventure. Preserve their freedom and passion, improve their standard of living, open up new horizons for their jobs, while strictly respecting the rules of democracy, solidarity and good management.
