A straight forward tour that takes you to a stunning high valley and great views from the col.
Leave the parking at the end of the road near l’Échalp. Cross the piste towards the Crête des Baysses. Go over the Torrent de Nalbert in to the woods, climb through the woods. Gain height and aim to hit the higher valley where the summer foot path joins it.
Once in the high valley just follow it along until it climbs at the end to the col, with stunning views.
Descent
Ski back down the valley, enter the trees and stick on the shoulder to descend. It is possible to ski down near the torrent de Nalbert ( my GPS trace) but it is tight and rocky in places and with a frozen stream not recommended. Once out of the trees you can follow a piste back to the parking.
