The Écrins, Briançon and Queyras areas has a wide range of Via ferrata, with something for everyone. Below are the best expert routes, these routes could be long and committing or with strenuous moves such as overhangs and should only be attempted by experienced people.

Check out our grade page for more info - Grades

1) La Pisse - Briançon (la Grave)

A long route climbing near a stunning waterfall, with a long and steep walk off.

2) Gorges de la Durance Black - L'Argentiere

Part of the big Gorges de la Durance Via Ferrata set up, this is a great place to go to experience all the grades, the black is a long route, with steep sections and a great bridge.

3) Gorges D'Ailefroide - L'Argentiere

The second route in the gorge, it never gains much height but traverses the gorge, with a few steep/overhanging sections.

4) La voie de la Balme - Les Vigneaux

A popular route that climbs steeply up this cliff face, there is a short overhanging section to overcome. It starts on a blue route and then turns off.

5) Crêtes de Combe la Rocher - Queyras

A very long and committing route, it has steep sections near the top that need a bit of thought.

6) La Cascade - Queyras

One of the harder routes in the area, it has an overhanging section that traverses, this needs some care and strong arms.
