The Best Advanced Via Ferrata In The Écrins, Briançon and Queyras.

The Écrins, Briançon and Queyras regions have a wide variety of via ferrata routes, here is a list of the routes in the advanced category.

1) Mines du Grand Clôt - La Grave

A very long route, it takes you up a massive cliff face, seeing the old mine working's, with a long walk off.

2) L'Aguillette du Lauztet

The L'Aguillette du Lauzet is an amazing rock spire high in the Cerces massif, this routes traverses the whole rock face and finishes on the top of the spire an amazing experience.

3) Rocher Blanc Sportive

Access is via a cable car or a very long walk, this route is high in the mountains and give great views.

4) Croix de Toulouse

One of the classics in the area, a short walk-in gives you access to this amazing cliff that towers above the Briançon old fortified town.

5) Gorges de la Durance red

Part of the massive series of via ferrata in the Durance Gorge, the Red route offers a great experience this is one of the best routes in the area.

6) Tournoux

With stunning views of the glacier blanc, this great route also benefits from being north facing so a lot cooler in the summer.

7) La Falaise

One of the first via ferrata in France this is still a classic. It traverses the massive cliffs at Freissiniéres going through the caves. It is possible to escape the route at half way following the blue grade.

8) Rochers de la Clapiére

Although it is possible to do this route on an Blue route, there is a red variation which is worth doing.
